Get excited, ORCWA is proud to announce our charity support round in support of Bowel Cancer Australia as part of Red Apple Day for Round 3 – Bolgart Bash.

To show our support and raise awareness, we’re releasing a limited run of Charity Support T-Shirts - and they will be available for pre-order at Round 2 and via the new ORCWA Online Merch Store!

These tees aren’t just merch - they represent our club coming together for an important cause that impacts so many Australian families.

🍎 How It Works

  • Pre-order to secure your shirt (online or at Round 2)

  • Pick up at Round 3 (Bolgart) from the merch tent

  • Limited run – don’t miss out

By purchasing a shirt, you’re helping raise awareness and support the work being done in prevention, research, and support for those affected by bowel cancer.

All proceeds from T-shirt sales go to Bowel Cancer Australia, supporting a cause that is dear to us.

👉 Wear it proudly at Round 3 and be part of something bigger than racing.

🍎 Why This Matters

Bowel cancer is one of the most common and deadly cancers in Australia, yet it is also one of the most treatable when detected early.  Each year, around 14,700–15,500 Australians are diagnosed, and more than 5,200 lives are lost to this disease.

What makes this cause even more important is that bowel cancer often develops without obvious symptoms in its early stages.  However, when detected early, survival rates can be as high as 90%+ in the earliest stages, compared to significantly lower outcomes once the cancer has spread.

Shockingly, around 1 in 20 Australians will be diagnosed with bowel cancer in their lifetime, and rates in younger Australians are rising, highlighting the need for awareness at every age.

For our club, this cause is deeply personal.  One of our own, Melissa Ward, has been directly affected by this disease.  This round is about standing together as a community - raising awareness, supporting those impacted, and encouraging everyone to take early detection seriously.

A simple screening test can save lives.

At Bolgart, we’re not just racing

- we’re riding for a reason!
